Our Hong Kong presence at a glance

We have had a base in Hong Kong for more than a decade and have established a strong local presence, where we are the number one supplier of global, multinational credit management support. We focus on local businesses, supporting their export and domestic business needs, while growing together with them.

In addition, our Atradius Hong Kong office acts as our Regional Headquarters for both Atradius Credit Insurance and Atradius Collections in Asia. Hong Kong is where our Regional Director is based. From this office, the Regional Director and his team co-ordinate the expansion strategy in Asia and direct the support we provide throughout the region. We are based in the heart of Asia’s financial community. Our professionalism and in-depth local market knowledge provide us with ability to underwrite 99.5% of the regional risks locally.

History of Atradius in Hong Kong from origins to today

Since starting out as a small team of six in Hong Kong, Atradius in Asia has grown rapidly. Today, with a regional presence of more than 200 staff, in over ten markets and 15 offices.

Atradius Asia now insures a large number of top local multinationals and key local companies.

Management and representatives in Hong Kong

Atradius Credit Insurance Asia operates under the leadership of regional Managing Director, Eric den Boogert. He is supported by the Head of Risk Services Asia, Bart Poublon, who is responsible for Buyer Underwriting in the Asia region.

Atradius Hong Kong is run by Vincent Ku, the CEO of Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan.

Our Hong Kong team includes Commercial and Risk Underwriters, Collections specialists, a Finance team and support staff. In Taiwan, our team comprises Commercial and Risk Underwriters. In South Korea, we have a Commercial team.

Atradius Collections Asia is managed by Quintus Deken.

Senior Management Team

Eric den Boogert

Eric den Boogert was appointed to the position of Managing Director of Atradius in Asia in 2011. A member of the Atradius Leadership Team, he is directly responsible for all operations and strategy in Asia and the Middle East.

Eric joined the company in 1995 and has worked in commercial functions located in the Netherlands (Breda), Germany (Cologne), the UK (London) and India (Mumbai) before relocating to Hong Kong in January 2006 to take on the post of Regional Sales Manager New Markets, He was later promoted to Deputy Regional Director New Markets and Country Manager for Hong Kong.

In his previous roles, Eric was responsible for business development in Japan, China, Hong Kong, India, UAE and Brazil as Regional Sales Manager, where he succeeded in achieving growth ahead of target every year.

A law graduate from Erasmus University, Rotterdam (Netherlands), Eric’s extensive experience of working with emerging markets in Asia, the Middle East and South America provides him with a highly developed commercial understanding, which has helped shape the services and solutions provided by Atradius in Asia.

Bart Poublon

Bart Poublon was appointed to the position of Executive Manager Risk Services Asia Pacific in July 2012. He is currently located in Hong Kong and is responsible for managing a team of more than 50 credit analysts located across the region in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, China and Indonesia.

Prior to this, Bart worked in several roles for Atradius around the world. This included Senior Risk Underwriter in the UK, Underwriting Manager Asia and Manager of the Claims and Recoveries team in Sydney, Australia.

Bart is originally from Belgium and graduated there with a degree in Business Administration - Accountancy & Taxation before taking his first position with Atradius in Paris as a Buyer Underwriter for the Textiles Industry.

Vincent Ku

As CEO for Atradius Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan, Vincent Ku is responsible for formulating and implementing company strategies, as well as overseeing the business operations in these markets.

Vincent joined Atradius in January 2008 as the Senior Sales Manager to manage new business development in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and expanded Atradius business steadily over the years in these markets. He was promoted to the role of Commercial Manager Hong Kong and Taiwan in July 2011 and the Commercial Director Greater China in Jan 2014, with additional responsibility to expand the Company’s business in the Greater China Region.

Prior to joining Atradius, Vincent worked in a regional sales role in APAC for Legget & Platt Inc (a Fortune 500 company), and held various sales and managerial roles in international trading companies, shipping lines and logistics companies in Hong Kong, China and Singapore.

Vincent graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a degree in Business Administration – International Business.

Quintus Deken

Quintus Deken, as the Regional Head of Atradius Collections in Asia Pacific and Middle East, is responsible for managing Collections operations, sales and regional expansion of the business across Asia and Oceania. He joined Atradius Collections as the Country Manager for Singapore and South East Asia in January 2018 and was subsequently promoted to his current position in January 2020.

Quintus started his career as a debt collector at a collections agency part of ING Group N.V. in the Netherlands. He then joined Randstad Nederland B.V. as a Team Leader within the Credit Management department. He then re-joined the ING Group N.V. and held several leadership roles within the Commercial and Legal Collections Department of ING’s factoring division. Prior to joining Atradius Collections, Quintus worked for Aon Netherlands as Trade Credit Consultant and was promoted to Head of Trade Credit for Aon in Hong Kong in 2012.

Quintus holds a bachelor degree in Management Economics and Law from the Amsterdam Business School.

Our local focus is on being best in class in servicing our local and Atradius Global accounts. The proof is reflected in our exceptionally high retention rates, which run at more than 95% annually.

We have strong longstanding relationships with many international brokers. In addition, we actively reach out and support local brokers. We help them to develop new business opportunities and grow their knowledge of credit insurance through dedicated training sessions and the Atradius Online Training Portal.
